The subdudes’ policy on taping shows

(This policy applies to the subdudes, not spin-off projects or individual members. Their personal preferences vary.)

The subdudes allow and encourage fans to tape their shows and trade copies with fellow music lovers. In return we ask that you:

  1. Do share any show you record, either by:
    • Uploading the show to the Live Music Archive (please do enable creation of mp3 files); and/or
    • Sending us a copy (audio or flac CDR is fine): subdudes.com, 7921 Tire Swing Road, Dunn Loring, VA 22027.
  2. Don’t attempt to sell or license anything you record of us to anyone for any reason or for any type and amount of compensation.
  3. Don’t broadcast, or place on any computer for streaming, copies of our performance(s) without getting our written or e-mailed consent. (It’s fine to share online via downloads, trades and bit-torrent).
  4. Don’t ask for soundboard access. Our experience is that a set of well-placed, decent-quality mics will always sound better than tapes from the board.
  5. Don’t ask to videotape.
  6. Don’t do anything that might interfere with nontapers’ experience or that might cause band members or crew to become distracted.

Taping is a privilege, not a right or guarantee. Band members reserve the right to change their minds and ask you to leave your equipment turned off. That usually happens if they get the feeling that you are being unprofessional or are being intrusive.

Thanks for helping us spread the word about the subdudes!
